Kerry Ellis at Dress Circle, Monmouth
Street, London on Friday 3rd July 2009 to present the lucky winner of
the Dress Circle/ Theatre Mad raffle, Steven Redelman with the oil
Painting of Kerry as Elphaba in the smash hit musical "Wicked" which was
raffled to raise funds for TheatreMAD. Kerry also presented David
Pendlebury and Dirk Reuter, the chairmen of TheatreMAD with a cheque for
£1050.

Audition for Eyebrow Productions’ "Showtime Challenge 2009"
After the success of last year’s Showtime Challenge production,
'Me and My Girl,' comes
'Crazy For You,' to be staged for one night only at the London Palladium.
Showtime Challenge has seen hundreds of performers make their West End debut,
and is dedicated to providing new opportunities for people. Due to the 48 hour
weekend rehearsal period it means that even those with demanding full-time jobs
can be involved. Past cast members have included doctors, zoologists and
mechanical engineers as well as established actors, musicians and dancers. So as
long as you are 16+ you will be able to audition.

Great Ormond Street Hospital is looking for support from amateur dramatic
societies, theatres and other budding performers to help raise vital funds
towards two Neurosciences operating theatres for our young patients at Great
Ormond Street Hospital.
The Appeal aims to raise £4million towards the construction of 2 brand new state
of the art operating theatres at Great Ormond Street Hospital to be used for
children who require specialist neurosurgery. The neurosciences team treats over
8,000 children each year, with demand for neurosurgery already outstrips current
capacity.
Could your company hold collections for us during your
pantomime season? Ask users of your venue to hold a collection for us during
their production? Ask patrons if they would like to add a donation to the price

'Notes From New York' presents

"Taking Notes"
Monday 27th until Friday 31st July 2009.
A one-week, extra-curricular exploration through the new and
exciting musical theatre writing of today. Designed to introduce participants to
a wealth of material they have yet to discover, whilst helping them to hone
their craft, 'Taking Notes' is an opportunity to delve deeper into the writing
that is the future of the West End. Guiding participants through the week’s
sessions will be the original creative team behind the 'Notes from New York'
series. West End stars, who have appeared in the series, will make guest
appearances throughout Taking Notes to teach bespoke masterclasses, culminating
in a semi-staged showcase of material at the end of the week to an invited,
industry based audience
Taking Notes is open to performers aged 18 and over, whether they
are a professional actor or currently attending a full time course. Only 50
spaces are available. Participation in Taking Notes costs £195 for a week’s
tuition, from 10.30 to 16.30 each day.

new opportunities for playwrights in cyberspace. New for 2009, week-by-week over
the coming year, Urban Scrawl is a series of 53 short dramas (50 plays and three
musicals) conceived specifically for free online download and podcast; giving
listeners the world over a unique and unforgettable account of London life.
Each play has been inspired by a different stop on the Piccadilly Line, one of
the most travelled and historically venerated of London's Underground lines.
From Heathrow in the west up to Cockfosters in the north east. Mark Ravenhill is
the patron of Urban Scrawl and will contribute a drama of his own to the
project. Urban Scrawl includes plays from writers including: Simon Stephens,
Samuel Adamson, Alexis Zegerman, Bola Agbaje, Sarah Beck, Ali Taylor, Daryl
Bennett, Laura Wade, Jane Bodie, Louise Gooding, Chips Hardy, Dawn King, Dominic
Mitchell, Gillian Plowman, Phil Porter and Sarah Sigal.
